Alison Nguyen is a New York-based artist whose video, film, and installation work raises questions about the circulation of images and the cultural surrounding. She often integrates appropriated footage from mass media, investigating systems of control found within the visual codes of this material. She received her B.A from Brown University, Providence, RI. Nguyen’s work has been featured in exhibitions and screenings at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill, NY;  Microscope Gallery, Brooklyn; Outpost Artists, Brooklyn; Zumzeig Cine, Barcelona; Satellite Art Show, Miami; as well as Ann Arbor Film Festival, Michigan; Traverse Vidéo, Toulouse, France; Transient Visions: Festival of the Moving Image, Johnson City, NY. She has completed residencies at Signal Culture, Owego, NY; Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT; and Flux Factory, Queens.
