“The shortest way between two people is a story”

Born in Rabat (Morocco), into a family of traditional storytellers, Amal Khizioua inherits from a rich family tradition in the field of storytelling and folktales. In 1987, she has a PhD on Folktales and its transmission in urban areas in Morocco, at the University of Paris 7 – Denis Diderot, France. From 1995, she formed in different ways of storytelling with storytellers from different countries (Belgium, Canada, France, Spain…). She also conducted workshops for audiences very diverse: students, educators, children, teachers, librarians, migrant…
In 2007, she created, with other enthusiasts of storytelling, La Maison du Conte de Rabat-Maroc (the House of Tales of Rabat–Morocco) whose objectives are: promote, transmit and preserve the oral heritage of traditional tales from Morocco and elsewhere.
Her selected project is a training workshop in the Art of storytelling for woman of all origine and age.
