Caroline KELLEY

My practice represents an attempt to demystify constructions of authenticity and make space for ambiguities. To this end, I blur the boundaries that separate practice, theory and criticism – and then creatively engage with the uncertainties that ensue. There is something purposefully self-reflective about this process. Although obscured to some extent, I often use personal experience as a starting point for my projects.  In recent years, I’ve been working on a project about the Arctic and am interested more broadly in the nature-culture dichotomy and stories of expeditions, exploration, tourism and travel.  I am currently based in Paris, France.
